Human Resources Business Partner - Burr Ridge, IL

The Human Resources Business Partner promotes employee recruiting, retention, and development, and provides leadership and consultation on people-related matters throughout the Company. The HR Business Partner will have great passion to maintain the IPM culture which includes honesty, integrity, compassion, and excellence.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Business Partner will assess and anticipate HR-related needs and partner with management to devise value added services to advance the business objectives of the organization. The HR Business Partner will provide support on people-related matters, manage all benefits administration and compensation administration, support the recruiting team, while helping to provide direction to the other members of the HR team.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Employee Relations:

  • Provide guidance to leadership team on performance management.
  • Proactively develop relationships with personnel to maintain a “pulse” on employee morale. Serve as a sounding board and advisor to employees as needed.
  • Coordinate activities to promote camaraderie and philanthropy, e.g. social activities, blood drives, etc.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of legal requirements related to employee relations.

Benefits:

  • Manage the annual open enrollment process.
  • Assist employees with claims questions and problems.
  • Evaluate benefits package options to ensure continuous improvement and market competitiveness.
  • Develop annual budgets for all benefits related accounts.
  • Serve as HR’s primary contact for employee 401(k) assistance, and interface with the financial planner, TPA, and investment house as necessary.

Compensation & Payroll:

  • Generate annual salary budgets and approve merit increases.
  • Perform periodic review of the salary structure for all positions through credible sources.
  • Serve as an expert in payroll and provide oversight of payroll processing.

Human Resources:

  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with Director of HR to develop HR solutions, programs and policies.
  • Maintain and report on headcount statistics and ensure all systems properly reflect employee data.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Experience and Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including benefits administration, compensation practices, payroll processing, employee relations, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Experience with California employment law preferred.
